About Me

Hey everyone my name is Cody Barnhart. I am 28 years old and decided that alcohol no longer needed to be apart of my life. I had a very bad relationship with it. I was one of those any days that end in "y" kind of drinkers. I loved it and still do, which is why I needed to part ways with it. I always knew when I became a parent that I didn't want want my daughter to see me drinking all the time. It was a Friday night and I was out with the guys doing our fantasy football draft drinking and having a good time as I would do most Fridays and weekends with friends. When I woke up the next morning I felt like crap as usual on a Saturday morning. Something clicked and I knew enough was enough. I have deep family history tied to alcoholism and could feel it taking grasp of myself. Whether you believe it's genetic or not, I knew I enjoyed it more and could consume more than any of my peers. I was the party guy. I got loud and did crazy things to make people laugh so I always made sure I had booze with me no matter where I went or what I was doing. I can honestly tell you I never thought I would quit drinking because it became a part of my identity and its just what I did. August 25 2023 was when I took my last drink. The beginning was very hard. I had to find things to keep myself busy and disconnect drinking from all the activities I enjoyed doing so with. I can promise you the mental clarity, the health benefits, not feeling like crap every morning, and knowing I am a more present husband and father does not even compare to that temporary feeling from the alcohol. Alcohol is a debilitating substance that cripples every part of our body and offers zero health benefit. Unfortunately, it is such normal part of our society and it makes it that much harder to get away from. I feel better than I ever have in my entire life since I began drinking. I will never trade the benefits and way I feel now, for my prior life. I had this vision to create a brand and community to encourage and support other fathers and people to break free from the norm of alcohol. I want to make "sober" cool and raise awareness of the detrimental effects of alcohol. Sober Dad was created to help fathers from all walks of life know that there is a way out of the cycle. I hope you enjoy my products and wear them proudly and encourage your peers to become sober and join the community. I look forward to hearing from you and any ideas you may have for this community.

My Mission

My mission is to assist other people in achieving sobriety. I am dedicated to providing guidance and support to those who are struggling with addiction and searching for a path towards recovery. As a father myself, I understand the challenges and responsibilities that come with parenthood, and how addiction can negatively impact our role in our children's lives. I firmly believe that every father deserves the chance to rebuild their lives, repair relationships, and become the loving, present parent they aspire to be. Through sharing my own experiences, offering resources, and fostering a community of like-minded individuals, I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where people can find the strength and motivation to seek help, embark on their sobriety journey, and ultimately create a better future for themselves and their children.

My vision

I have a clear vision of creating a brand that revolves around the concept of sobriety. This brand will not only resonate with individuals but also capture the attention and recognition of families. I aim to develop a brand that families can proudly represent, one that symbolizes a lifestyle free from addiction. By promoting the virtues of sobriety, my brand will inspire and empower families to embrace a healthier and more fulfilling way of living. Through innovative marketing strategies and impactful messaging, I envision creating a movement that celebrates sobriety and fosters a sense of unity among families who share this common goal. Together, we will redefine societal perceptions of sobriety, ultimately transforming it into something to be excited about and proud of.
